Hygieneer said the time was right for a ‘different approach’ to cleaning, which will focus on both systems and products.

Sue Brown, director of the company, said she believed what she called ‘a formidable team of cleaning industry brains’ heavily financially backed will make an impact in the industry.

“This is a project, which has been many years in the making by people who have worked at senior level within the industry, but have felt it needs some modernising,” she said.

“We believe that there has to be a revolution in the business, in processes, equipment and culture and whilst this may not happen overnight, we believe our team will make us a big player as it is one full of influential professionals.”

“Additionally, we will flag up the importance of hygiene systems and equipment to the public in a vigorous and unique approach,” she added.

Hygieneer, which has its headquarters in Brindley Place, Birmingham, at the heart of the city’s commercial quarter has already teamed up with The British Institute of Cleaning Science (BICSc) as a corporate partner.

Stan Atkins, group CEO of BICSc, which has over 5,000 members, and has been in existence for more than 50 years welcomed Hygieneer’s entry into the market place.

“We wish them well in their endeavours to be a significant voice in our industry in the years ahead and us forging a mutually beneficial relationship,”  said Stan Atkins, group CEO of BICSc.

At Hygieneer we are delighted to announce that our cleaning products including mops, buckets and associated products, have been chosen by the National Health Service Supply Chain, which will see our equipment in hospitals across England and Wales.

Over the next two years, the NHS supply chain estimate the contract to be worth well in excess of £10 million, and this award follows a lengthy and rigorous assessment by the NHS.

Before being chosen we had to prove ease of use, competitive pricing and many other stringent criteria, with our products also tested by a leading independent university and private laboratory.

This was followed by an extensive product evaluation by the cleaning operators themselves, through the NHS Housekeeping Group Evaluation Team, to ensure we met the specifications demanded by the NHS for hygiene including: infection control properties, strength, robustness and performance which all Hygieneer products passed.

Additionally we saw off an extremely impressive field of established manufacturers by providing, amongst other key factors, the pricing that they could not match on the overall range of products.

For a comparably new company in the competitive world of commercial cleaning products and support, we hope this accolade demonstrates that our promise to revolutionise the industry is quickly coming to fruition.

We have set out a mandate to bring hygiene tools and education to the forefront of the minds of business leaders, with them using products and systems befitting the 21st century.

We wish to thank the NHS for this opportunity, but also our formidable team of leading cleaning industry experts who have worked tirelessly and diligently to convince one of the largest organisations in the UK to embrace the Hygieneer vision.
